Worship
   The congregation at Ebenezer averages around 35 people, although many more attend special services and festivals. This rural community has always had strong traditions with many members belonging to farming families and giving loyal service to the Parish of Trinity.
   Music is usually provided by a splendid pipe organ which produces one of the finest sounds in Jersey, but the church also uses a piano, and other instruments are called on for special occasions.
   Methodist Ministers usually have to look after more than one church so worship is often conducted by Local Preachers who are trained in worship leading and preaching. Sometimes worship is designated as LA (local arrangement) which gives members of the congregation a chance to prepare their own worship.
   As an ageing and naturally declining congregation, Ebenezer asked realistic questions about its future; worship was enjoyed by all who attended, but its format did not easily accommodate the needs of children and young parents.
   Two years ago, the bold decision was taken to have two different forms of service each Sunday morning; a shorter traditional service in the church, followed by a break for coffee in the church hall, then another short informal family service...
